Ombu Capital’s founder, Mr. Vetumbuavi Mungunda is a reputable and experienced entrepreneur, professional and business executive with a high level of strategic, financial, governance, and business expertise.
Vetumbuavi Mungunda (AMP (Harvard), CA (Nam & RSA), HDipAcc (Rhodes), B.Com (UNAM)) was a practising chartered accountant for 18 years, with extensive experience across various industries. He has worked on commericialisation, corporatisation, re-engineering and repositioning initiatives which included strategic planning, costing reviews, funding structuring and venture arrangements.
As the Managing Partner of Deloitte Namibia and the regional managing partner of Deloitte southern corridor (Botswana, Malawi, Namibia, Zambia & Zimbabwe), he was responsible for the long-term strategies and business plans of these businesses and had provided various consultancy services to many businesses covering a range of industries and topics.
Until recently, he was the Chief Executive of Standard Bank Namibia for 7 years, and led the bank through large complex business projects including core-banking system migration, business process re-engineering, share sale to employees and listing on the Stock Exchange. Through the founder, Ombu Capital has access to key financial services sector decision makers, and leading support from specialist teams locally, regionally and internationally as and when required.
